Sepura Unveils Mission-Critical Hand-Portable Broadband Device
Sepura unveiled the SCL3 TETRA and 4G/5G Device, our first rugged broadband hand portable, during this week's BAPCO Annual Event.
The SCL3 Hybrid Vehicle Device, which goes well with the SCU3 Hybrid Vehicle Device, demonstrates our dedication to making investments in the vital communications of the future and lowers the risk and expense of switching to Mission vital Services (MCX) by offering hybrid solutions to ease the transition.
With the ability to be deployed as hybrid TETRA and 4G/5G or as LTE exclusively, the new SCL3 device is a potent tool to facilitate the transition to mission-critical broadband.
With its optional TETRA module, the SCL3 supports the best of both worlds and serves as a link to future MCX communications, offering a clear and sustainable migration path. Businesses can begin using TETRA TMO voice and LTE data right now, and they can continue to use TETRA DMO for Device-to-Device (D2D) services while gradually transitioning to full MCX operation on their own timeline.
The SCL3 was designed with mission-critical users in mind. It meets the requirements for rugged broadband devices set forth by NCCOM, or the Nordic public safety network operators, and has features like physical buttons for emergency calls and PTT that are essential to Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) users of rugged TETRA devices.
It gives us great pleasure to introduce the SCL3 to the public safety community at BAPCO, where it will be shown for the first time. The SCL3 offers a safe and secure path towards MCX that can be begun right now for clients starting their LTE migration strategy. This allows for early adoption of broadband services while keeping their current TETRA connection.
Chief Technology Officer Peter Hudson
The device's physical attributes enable frontline functioning in any situations, including damp, fluctuating temperatures, and high humidity. A long lifespan and ongoing maintenance for the chipset, software, hardware, and battery are also crucial components of the SCL3 value offer.
Along with the full suite of accessories needed to deploy to mission-critical users, such as carry cases, chargers, audio accessories, and car kits, the SCL3 portfolio is also enhanced by a full Mobile Device Management (MDM) service for organizations that offers thorough over-the-air device management and software provisioning for both LTE and TETRA.
Peter Hudson continued:
Building on more than two decades of providing mission-critical users, including public safety, Sepura is dedicated to continuously improving and investing in both our hybrid portfolio and emerging technologies. By fusing cutting-edge technology, dependability, and best practices to provide users unmatched robustness and functionality, the SCL3 exemplifies this dedication and provides a comprehensive solution for the advancement of mission-critical communications.
On March 6-7, 2024, at the BAPCO Annual Event in Coventry, the SCL3 will be officially introduced. For further information or to get in contact, stop by the Sepura team at exhibit D1.
