Twisted Pair Solutions, maker of WAVE software, now supports Microsoft Lync
WAVE enables users of Lync to talk to land mobile radio users such as VHF, UHF, P25 and Tetra
One of Microsoft’s partners, Twisted Pair Solutions, maker of WAVE software, now supports Microsoft Lync.
WAVE Lync Communicator extends Lync by adding push-to-talk connectivity between office-based workers and their mobile worker colleagues who use two-way radios and smartphones.
This solution breaks down the communications barrier found with two-way radio and other proprietary communication systems - bringing critical communications workers in the field into the enterprise communications fold.
In addition, WAVE enables users of Lync to talk to land mobile radio users (VHF, UHF, P25, Tetra, etc.), group audio channels (hoot-and-holler networks, emergency broadcasts), paging/intercom systems and PC-based applications. With WAVE, all of these disparate devices and communication channels are now available from a single interface embedded within Lync.
According to Twisted Pair Solutions, "WAVE’s unique place in the unified communications world is that it owns the interoperability piece for field operations, enterprise radio mobility and battle’s-edge communications. Because WAVE specializes in “radio” interoperability, it is responsible for evolving unified communications past desk-side technologies to incorporate those devices used on the ground and in the field."
Another cool feature is that it has the ability to display presence information directly on a Bing map from users of WAVE Mobile Communicators and GPS-supported push-to-talk radio users, enabling you to know where your field resources are deployed.
