Telvent Wins Digital Radio Contract For Brazil’s Airports
the functionality also will assure communications reliability in emergencies
Telvent was awarded a contract by Infraero, the Brazilian company for airport infrastructure, to deliver a new, digital radio communications network to 18 Brazilian airports. The standards-compliant Telvent platform affords privacy and security, and its high availability will improve communications efficiency and service to air travelers during routine airport operations at Brazilian airports.
The functionality also will assure communications reliability in emergencies or events when a high level of coordination of activities and processes is necessary. The system's demonstrated performance will help manage the significant air traffic associated with the 2014 World Cup tournament, recently awarded to Brazil.
"This project reflects our commitment to Brazil and its infrastructure, destined to serve many world-class events in the future,” said Ignacio Gonzalez, Telvent's CEO. “The Telvent telecommunications system selected by Infraero is designed to interface with other standardized information systems and enable effective joint communications among different entities and agencies.”
Telvent's communications technology also was deployed by AENA, Spain's global airport and air navigation services operator.
