Rohill announces launch of LTE solutions
Highly optimized LTE solutions for heterogeneous networks
Since 2009, Rohill has been providing innovative solutions for mission-critical broadband voice & data communications based on LTE to the industry and end users alike. With its On-Demand Intelligent Network Interface (ODINI) initiative, Rohill has gained a leading position in the PMR-over-Mobile-IP services market. The PMR feature set in TETRA has been the reference for development of ODINI, enabling seamless integration of LTE and TETRA.
Rohill solutions are vendor-independent, allowing easy integration with both public (operated) and private LTE networks. This was proven by the world’s first TETRA-over-LTE solution demonstrated by Alcatel-Lucent during the TETRA World Congress 2011 in Budapest.
To accelerate the adoption of LTE for mission-critical applications, Rohill now introduces the R-9050 LTE base station at the TETRA World Congress 2012 in Dubai. This base station is targeted for fast deployment applications, requiring robust and secure broadband communications at events and incidents. Support of all relevant UHF frequency bands is planned, including 350 and 400 MHz, with standard and custom bandwidths between 1.25 and 20 MHz. The architecture of the base station is designed for high availability by adopting no-single-point-of-failure mechanisms, with software support for highly scalable and secure group communications on the basis of IP Multicast. The complementary Rohill LTEtraNode Evolved Packet Core (EPC) delivers advanced LTE data & voice services without the need for highly complex IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) features.
As Rohill is committed to deliver tailored solutions for TETRA and LTE, the company will continue its partnership with leading LTE equipment suppliers to further stimulate and develop this market by providing open solutions. The vendor-independent product strategy is of fundamental importance to support current and future heterogeneous networks, including PMR networks based on TETRA, TETRAPOL and APCO Project 25, as well as integration with public operator-controlled LTE networks. This work is supported by two European FP7 projects in which Rohill participates.
