TATA Steel Successfully closes TETRA SAT in The Netherlands

Sepura distributor Abiom last week announced that the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) has been completed in at ​​Tata Steel to the complete satisfaction of the client.

According to Abiom, the performance in terms of roaming and coverage of the new TETRA communications system, at TATA STeel Ijmuiden, are much better than the current TETRAPOL system. In addition, the audio performance of the radios are also significantly better, particularly in the extremely noisy environments. The Sepura network will be put into operation from the end of May.

The communication network comprises Sepura TETRA infrastructure with 5 FR400 base stations, 900 radios and a number special solutions for cranes and locomotives.

The network is deployed in an area of ​​750 hectares that through its own port and is directly connected to the North Sea.
