Motorola Solutions ANC Remote Speaker Microphone and TETRA Atex Radio Receive International Design Recognition
Both the The MTP8000Ex series two-way radio and the Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) Remote Speaker Microphone from Motorola Solutions have received international design recognition by the The iF DESIGN AWARD.
MTP8000Ex
The MTP8000Ex series two-way radio addresses the unique conditions present in firefighting, petroleum and other hazardous, explosion prone environments while offering superior audio, battery life, coverage and ergonomics.The T-shape profile, exaggerated control knob, enlarged keys, large color display and secondary top display offer purpose-built, “glove-able” functionality.
According to IF Design Award, MTP8000Ex researchers and designers paid close attention to how users actually use their current devices and applied these insights to create a new solution offering an improved and redefined user experience.
Assesment criteria were; aesthetics, practicability and execution.
ANC Remote speaker Microphone/ATEX wearable microphone
The Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) Remote Speaker Microphone (RSM) enables users to communicate clearly in harsh ATEX environments such as oil refineries, fires and hazardous locations. Enhanced audio with wind porting allows the user’s voice to be heard clearly while eliminating surrounding noise. Exaggerated controls, including a large front push-to-talk button, allow ease of use even while wearing protective gear. The rugged housing includes emergency and volume controls that are large for quick access, but protected to avoid accidental activation. The device is compatible with various firefighter breathing devices.
Assesment criteria for the Active Noise Cancelling were; usability + ergonomics, safety and target group fit.
