Teltronic Extends Long-Term Relationship With Madrid Metro
Teltronic, a subsidiary of Hytera Communications Corporation Limited, has been awarded in a public tender, by Metro Madrid, to supply further TETRA onboard radio equipment for Madrid Metro, Spain, building on a long-term relationship that began in 2003.
The latest tranche of 78 RTP-600 onboard units, with railway certification, will be integrated in the 2000, 7000, and 8000 1ª trains, to allow communication between drivers, control room staff and also passengers via a connection with existing public address and intercom systems.
Madrid Metro is the seventh longest in the world, with 301 stations spanning 13 lines and 293km of track. The network is administered by Metro de Madrid, whose responsibilities include maintaining the service quality of the existing infrastructure whilst also optimising technology to improve the customer experience. The Teltronic RTP-600 onboard solutions have been chosen for its proven voice and data capability, plus ease of implementation into such a considerable network fleet.
Felipe Sanjuan Pasamar, Teltronic’s Business Development Director for Transport, commented: “We have now supplied almost 900 onboard units for Madrid Metro’s transport network, and we are delighted that they have chosen to continue our long-standing collaboration”.
“As a truly open-standard, multi-vendor technology, TETRA offers customers’ choice, competitive pricing and the flexibility to ‘mix and match’ suppliers, allowing organisations the option to choose only the products that serve their need.”
