Background >>

The Guayaquil Welfare Board (JBG) is an autonomous non-profit agency that has existed for over a century and is governed by its own statutes under a board of directors made up of distinguished personages from the city of Guayaquil. Since1888, this charity has been providing social assistance to millions of Ecuadorians in the areas of health, education, elderly care and funeral services, which has led this organization to become the largest NGO in Ecuador and important one in Latin America.

The Guayaquil Welfare Board creates a network of first class services with cost subsidized, which includes:

  • Four Hospitals specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pediatrics, comprehensive mental health care and so on.
  • Two educational units to promote the physical intellectual over 3000 children and youth.
  • A hospice and a home for the elderly where they contribute to the welfare and tranquility of 400 hombresy older women.?
  • Two cemeteries and funeral services provide free dignified cremation for people.

Challenges >>

The Guayaquil Welfare Board had previously rented a Radio Trunking service which didn’t meet the great demands required in communication between different areas and institutions. These failures of communication were highly risky as it continually ran out of signal within hospital operating rooms and the noise emitted blocked a clear voice transmission, especially when the chaos was generated in the area of emergency where it was of vital importance of effective communication in real time.

Solutions >>

After an extensive technical analysis, Brucarte SA, authorized distributor of Hytera in Ecuador, presented a replacement solution complying with the demands required in such situations. Hytera DMR digital radios with GPS allowed timely communication and a full display in areas where this was necessary. The implementation of Hytera solutions brought below highlights:??

Increased spectrum efficiency?
Under the DMR standard, Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) retains the 12.5 kHz channel spacing and divides it into two alternating time slots. Each time slot acts as a separate communication channel with an equivalent bandwidth of 6.25 KHz. Thus, the efficiency of frequency utilization can be boosted by 4 times compared with analog system, significantly saving the frequency resources.

??Superior audio performance?
With its digital coding of voice and addressing, DMR digital technology provides better noise rejection and preserves voice quality even when signals are weak.

Why choose Hytera? >>

As the Hytera DMR products offered by Brucarte SA could not only meet the customer’s demanding needs, but also serve more, the Guayaquil Welfare Board finally chose Hytera. They declared that despite not knowing the brand in the past, they were much satisfied with the capabilities of the equipments, such as the transmission and reception quality of text and voice, and the support and guarantee offered.
