CML Microcircuits Enhances Function Image Suite of its CMX7241/CMX7341 PMR Common Platform Processors
All major PMR systems are now supported: DMR, dPMR, NXDN, ARIB STD-T102, ARIB STD-T98 and legacy Analogue PMR, all with automatic digital/analogue detection.
This CMX7241/CMX7341 PMR Common Platform Processors now provide the ultimate flexibility and enable a radio manufacture to build a single platform radio that supports many different PMR standards.
About the CMX7241/CMX7341 PMR Common Platform Processor
With an embedded audio codec (ADC/DAC) the devices provide a complete baseband solution with a flexible interface to support both software and hardware implementations of the AMBE+2 Vocoder. A high level of advanced functionality is included that minimises both host interactions and host real-time control constraints. The CMX7241/CMX7341 PMR Common Platform Processors can deliver FDMA digital PMR/LMR, 2-slot TDMA digital PMR/LMR and legacy analogue PMR/LMR. Based on CML's FirmASIC® component technology, a Function Image™ is uploaded into the device to determine the overall functions and operating characteristics.
PMR Chipset Solution Provides a Fast Development Path to Entering the DMR Market
The PMR chipset comprises a low power RF Direct Conversion Receiver (DCRx) IC (CMX994A/E) and a PMR Common Platform Processor (CMX7341) with DMR/dPMR/NXDN/ARIB STD-T102/ARIB STD-T98 Air Interface coding and analogue PMR embedded within Function Images. The CMX994A/E and CMX7341 chipset enables a highly integrated, cost effective radio to be developed quickly with a low risk development route, for radio manufacturers planning to enter the Digital PMR market space.
I/Q and Limiter Discriminator Receiver supported
Manufacturers preferring to evolve their current radio designs and not wishing to do a ground-up redesign can also take advantage of the CMX7241/CMX7341 benefits with their LD receiver capability.
The PMR Chipset ICs are available in very small VQFN packages occupying a minimal PCB footprint and in conjunction with a suitable host microcontroller a small, highly integrated PMR radio can be realised.
