Energy Giant STEAG Chooses Airbus Taira Tetra Technology
One of Germany's largest energy producers is modernising its mobile communication system with Airbus technology
Airbus will modernise and expand seNet®, the secure Tetra communication system of the energy supplier STEAG. Both partners have agreed that Airbus will replace the central technology of the communication system with Taira Tetra Servers. This core of the professional mobile radio network increases the capacity of the system, and makes it even more reliable and efficient.
In addition, Airbus will be servicing the mobile communication network and offering maintenance under a 5-year contract. Previous base stations will be replaced with new, high-performance TB3 technology. At the same time, the entire network is to be expanded step by step, in line with STEAG's requirements.
“Thanks to its expertise, Airbus has equipped energy suppliers worldwide with highly secure communication systems. STEAG in Germany benefits from our experience and uses state-of-the-art technology that can improve the company's overall operations,” says Markus Kolland, Head of Sales for Northern, Central and Eastern Europe for Secure Land Communications at Airbus.
STEAG operates its Tetra communication system seNet® in Germany’s Ruhr area and makes its secure communication services available to other organisations such as industrial companies, public administrations, fire-fighters, and rescue services. Thanks to this digital mobile communications system, companies can optimise their operations, emergency responses, monitoring activities and data applications.
