Cel-Fi QUATRA RED drives innovation in Public Safety Communication with the all-new ERRCS solution
Nextivity Inc. announced that its Cel-Fi QUATRA RED in-building public safety Emergency Responder Radio Communication System (ERRCS) solution is available for partners in the U.S. market. Cel-Fi QUATRA RED – which uses the same underlying technology as Nextivity’s award-winning, all-digital, carrier-grade Cel-Fi QUATRA suite of products – delivers in-building coverage to Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems and FirstNet-ready devices. The solution was recently showcased at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) virtual series.
“This has been a three-year journey for Nextivity,” says Werner Sievers, CEO of Nextivity. “Our goal was to use our disruptive technology platform to build the best communications solution for public safety professionals. With significant input from integrators and the public safety community, we applied our market-leading Cel-Fi technology that has changed the booster and DAS industry to improve and drive innovation in the public safety communications ecosystem.”
The first all-in-one, in-building public safety solution, Cel-Fi QUATRA RED makes it easier for integrators to implement and quickly install communications solutions for the public safety market. QUATRA RED variants include Class A and Class B devices with 56 and 28 channels respectively, which can be shared between 700 or 800 MHz. Unlike older analog public safety BDA technology, QUATRA RED delivers an all-digital cellular signal that is up to 1,000 times stronger, using CAT 5e cabling for RF-over-Ethernet (RFoE) and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), with no signal attenuation right to the perimeter of the building and without requiring a battery back-up unit with each remote unit. Unique features like automated commissioning, isolation, and calibration of the uplink/downlink also simplify installation. The future-proof system includes FirstNet bands 2,4, 12, and 14 right out of the box.
