Racine County Selects Federal Engineering for Public Safety Radio System Consulting
Racine County, Wisconsin announced that they have entered into a consulting services agreement with Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to assess and upgrade the County’s Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems. FE has been providing their radio system consulting services throughout Wisconsin for over two decades, including Dane, Grant, Marathon, and Manitowoc Counties as well as the City of Milwaukee and the State of Wisconsin.
Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave stated:
There is an immediate need to upgrade our communications services to better serve the great citizens of Racine County. Public safety communications across the County today are supported by disparate radio systems with fire utilizing UHF, police utilizing VHF, and one town in the County operating a P25 solution. As a result of these and other factors, we selected Federal Engineering to conduct analysis of the County’s infrastructure and existing systems, along with their assets to provide insights for determining the proper direction the County should take to upgrade our communications now and in the future.
FE has extensive experience assessing emergency communications systems to achieve improved coverage and interoperability for local, county, and state government agencies. We guide each client through their unique challenges and help determine the right upgrade path or alternative solution to achieve their desired communications results,
explained Mr. Brad Barber, Vice President at Federal Engineering. He went on:
FE will apply our proven methodologies to this project consisting of two phases:
Phase 1: Analysis, Needs Assessment and Conceptual Design
Phase 2: Specifications, RFP, and Procurement Support
Our approach is highly collaborative involving Racine County stakeholders throughout the project.
