RSI was formed in 1992 and, from the beginning, provided radio communications consultancy and technical services to the mobile radio communications industry and end-users. RSI then expanded into the design & development of its own specialized radio survey tools with great success.
RSI's directors have many years of experience; they are:
Ed Douglas: The founder of the RSI group and responsible for the design and development of the survey tools. Ed has been involved with mobile communications all of his career, first with Marconi Communications and then British Gas. Ed is responsible for the day-today running of RSI.
Brian Oliver: Brian has been involved in TETRA since 1989, was Chairman of the ETSI TETRA committee RES 6 from 1993 until 1997, and then chairman of the ETSI committee "ETSI Project TETRA" responsible for the continued development of the TETRA standard. As well as his involvement with RSI, Brian is an independent consultant and prior to this has had a career involved with mobile communications with Marconi Research, London Transport, GEC "National One" and more recently as UK vice-president of RCC Consultants. Brian is currently chairman of the Public Safety Spectrum Policy Group (PSSPG)
