Application

VFP's panelized shelters are designed with modular panels to facilitate easy assembly and disassembly for relocation.

R-30 panel insulation makes these knock-down buildings perfect for locations with extreme temperatures or high heating or cooling costs.

Easy Assembly

Your own personnel can assemble them on roof tops or mountain tops, transporting one panel at a time to the site if necessary. A crew of 2 workers can put this unique pre-packaged shelter together in 3 to 4 hours.

Panel Interlock System

Construction detail

The panels consist of interior and exterior metal skins precisely formed with steel dies and thoroughly checked with gauges for uniformity and accuracy.

The R-30 insulation is "foamed-in-place" rigid urethane, completely heat cured, and bound to the metal skins to form rigid 4 inch (10 cm) thick insulated panels.

Cam-action locking devices are precisely positioned in the panels to assure a positive joint.

Built to Withstand Extremes

The heat and pressure curing process gives dimensional stability and assures you of consistent density in each panel, producing a 98% closed cell barrier.

The double tongue-and groove edges keep the insulation tightly joined when erected, eliminating costly voids in the cold barrier and providing the most efficient thermal break with tremendous strength and integrity. High-quality urethane foam insulation and tight construction give these shelters effective performance at temperatures ranging from 250 °F to -40 °F (121 °C to -40 °C).

The panels simply will not contribute to the spread of a fire:

  • Approved by the New York City Toxicity Requirements and Listed MEA #37-85M

  • Passed the New York State Toxicity Test LRP-100-215 in compliance with the fire gas toxicity product test

Floor

The standard floor surface is aluminum treadplate capable of supporting a uniformly distributed load of 650 lbs/ft2 (3174 kg/m2).

For heavier loads we can design a reinforced floor capable of supporting uniformly distributed loads of up to 1000 lbs/ft2 (4882 kg/m2).
