According to RFI, discussions with vendors have indicated that whilst most are reporting “business as usual”, some electronic equipment vendors are experiencing delays due to addressing the backlog from quarantine procedures in China.

In a transparant statement to it's customers RFI, designer, developer and manufacturer of high-performance antennas, system components and repeaters, communicated that as the coronavirus continues to develop globally and in Australia, the company is constantly monitoring its impact on their supply chain in order to ensure that the company appropriately manages expectations of their customers & stakeholders.

According to RFI, discussions with vendors have indicated that whilst most are reporting “business as usual”, some electronic equipment vendors are experiencing delays due to addressing the backlog from quarantine procedures in China, which have led to increases in lead times of between 2 to 6 weeks. These delays vary between delays on manufacturing to ‘all-in’ delays caused by the full supply chain including shipping, customs, and quarantine delays.

In the statement, RFI said that the company will do their best to ensure customers have the latest information and they recommend that RFI’s customers regularly check with their RFI Sales Representative as to the situation relating to the inventory part that they are interested in. RFI Sales and Customer service staff will be in contact on a regular basis and the company hopes that the regular contact will alleviate some of the risk that comes with these supply chain delays.

As the situation continues to evolve by the day, RFI recommend customers to consider placing orders earlier than standard to avoid potential delays.
