Pro-M' Launches Next-Generation Public Safety Broadband Network in Hungary

The new Pro-M LTE network has a large capacity with nearly 2,500 base stations, and operates in parallel with EDR's current TETRA technology.

On February 1, 2025, Pro-M Zrt, a leading innovator in telecommunications technology and a communications service provider for emergency services in Hungary, launched it's public safety mobile broadband network. The mobile business of Pro-M Zrt. has been operating and developing the standby communication network for nearly twenty years.

Pro-M stated:

We have reached an important milestone: our national broadband 4G data service has been launched, and we plan to launch voice services by summer.

The new Pro-M LTE network has a large capacity with nearly 2,500 base stations, and operates in parallel with EDR's current TETRA  Critical communications Network.

As of February 1, the new network has gained nationwide coverage through Pro-M's mobile service partner One Magyarország Zrt.

The system is under continuous development, including the expansion of broadband data transmission capabilities and the future integration of 5G technology.
