Private TETRA network to be rolled out in The Netherlands

Alliander, KPN and Entropia put together a mobile telecommunications network for grid.
Network company Alliander, KPN and Entropia Digital collaborate in the design of a mobile telecommunications network specificly for grid. On the 1st February Alliander has singned an agreement with telecommunications and ICT company KPN and Entropia Digital.
Alliander, will use this infrastructure to manage and control energy networks. KPN provides specific design and technical management services for telecommunications. Entropia Digital will build its nationwide TETRA network further, and woill be co-user of the communications infrastructure and will do its technical management and maintenance.
Alliander expected in the coming years to roll out more and more intelligent energy grids. In these nets are sensors installed taht are able to monitor and control remotely the energy flows. Data communications will become more intensive and therefore more important. Through cooperation between KPN and Entropia Digital, Alliander will get more control over data communications for managing vital electricity and gas infrastructures.
