Hytera Mobilfunk has been shortlisted in three categories for the TETRA Awards 2014. With its TETRA Release 2 and TEDS support, DIB-R5 has been entered in the "Best TETRA Innovation" category. DIB-R5 is the latest generation of reliable and powerful base stations from Hytera for ACCESSNET-T IP TETRA radio systems.
Two reference projects from Hytera Mobilfunk have also been nominated for the coveted award. The TETRA radio system for the Marmaray project, in the "Best Use of TETRA for Transport" category, is part of a major Turkish infrastructure project, which also includes a railway tunnel that was built under the Bosporus. The TETRA system for the Marmaray project consists of a trunked mobile radio infrastructure, with the ACCESSNET-T IP radio system from TETRA as well as on-board radio transceivers in the trains.

TETRA is a new technology in the United States, one which was only recently approved by the USA's Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The TETRA-Awards 2014 will be presented on the 21st of February in the Landmark Hotel in London. The winner will be picked by a jury, made up entirely of industry experts. The TETRA Awards were created by the TCCA and TETRA today, to draw attention to the outstanding performances achieved in the sector of TETRA radio
