In his article, Jeff Cofsky answers questions like: Did we choose the right technology? Are we just too early for obtaining the type of vendors and support systems? Did we choose the right partner? Or, did we just make a really bad business decision?

In an article on LinkedIn Pulse, Jeff Cofsky, Vice President & CTO at TEXAS BIGFOOT COMMUNICATIONS gives the US and global TETRA community an update as to the levels of success they have achieved, and the levels of sincerest disappointment they have received when implementing TETRA in the USA. In the article he clearly states where TETRA in Texas sits these days.

The article on LinkedIn Pulse is an interesting article to read. Cofsky clearly states that in his case  industry mergers do not always lead to a bigger and leaner operations and finally a better service.

Edward Velez, Manager Radio Systems Planning and Support, comments on the article and mentions that the challenges Cofsky experiences are due to Culture. US versus everyone else. He says that TETRA vendors are still trying to wrap their heads around how the U.S. operates and how they could make any profit in the US.

Cofsky ends the article with a suggesties for those who are thinking of starting TETRA developments in the USA and says: "If you are still considering TETRA here in the US, Be very careful, and feel free to contact me should you need assistance in your decision making processes about TETRA. I would steer away from a single source provider for the Network and Terminals and choose a true system provider like Damm, Rohill or Selex allowing you full autonomy from the terminal sources (limited as they are right now). I would suggest you do the full due diligence that I did before you start".
