ISITEP starts First Tetra-TetraPol 3 Country Interoperability Trial
ISITEP (Inter System Interoperability for Tetra-TetraPol Networks), the EU project to develop a shared communications network for Europe’s first responders has started its first interoperability trial today.
The demo aims to demonstrate the feasibility of a police cross border cooperation scenario using the ISITEP frameworks (procedures, network technology, terminals and supporting tools) and assessing the associated benefits.
Main actors during the trial are the countries of Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. Communications will take place through three TETRA networks, suported by three vendors; Airbus Defence and Space, Finmeccanica and Motorola Solutions.

The Inter System Interoperability for Tetra-TetraPol Networks project (ISITEP) is an EU funded iniative that aims to develop the procedures, technology and legal agreements to achieve a cost effective global solution for PPDR interoperability.
Through the close collaboration of leading academic institutions, the manufacturers of national European networks and the national PPDR stakeholders, ISITEP will deliver a framework for a cost-effective communications PPDR network, not restricted by borders or national policy, for the benefit of all citizens.
