RAKEL and Nødnett TETRA ISI test Successfully Completed
The ISI test, between the Norwegian Notnett and the Swedish RAKEL TETRA network was focused on equipment, network settings, features and procedures and was well received by all stakeholders.
During three days affected users, suppliers, manufacturers and service providers met in Strömstad, Sweden. The purpose of the new ISI test was to test equipment, settings, features and procedures. The test was assisted by Motorola Solutions distributor Celab, as the company supports several customers that directly are involved in joint border operations.
”After testing the terminals in both networks we feel confident that the cooperation with the emergency services in Halden (Norway) will be improved with ISI. Obviously a few things are still uncertain, but they will resolve in time”, says Håkan Baatz at the emergency services of Strömstad.
Later this year another event regarding the ISI implementation will be held in Jämtland, Sweden. This time the solution will be presented to external stakeholders through a series of realistic scenarios. The official release of ISI will be in 2017 and the workshop in Strömstad was an important step towards that goal.
