Sepura supplies Digital Communications Solution to RHS Garden Wisley
Sepura, in conjunction with sales partner Chatterbox Ltd., has been chosen by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to provide a complete digital communications solution for its flagship garden at Wisley, Surrey, UK.
The solution – comprising MBS Lite base stations, over 200 SC2024 hand-portable radios and a dispatcher application with voice recording and GPS mapping – will boost visitor safety, security and facility management procedures across the 240 acre site.
With over 1 million visitors in 2015, and further expansion – including a new science centre, visitor hub and knowledge bank – already underway, the RHS needed a flexible solution to keep pace with their evolving requirements, providing clear communication along with safety features such as Lone Worker and Man-Down. In addition, features such as Emergency Button, Priority Call and GPS will help to improve response times, instantly alerting first aid and security teams to incidents and their location.
“This solution is a superb fit for RHS Garden Wisley and the daily operational challenges faced by staff members,” said Gary Leatherby, Managing Director of Chatterbox.
“In user evaluations, the SC2024 hand-portable radio scored the highest: audio is loud and crystal-clear – even in high-noise environments – while its rugged, lightweight design with IP68 environmental protection makes it ideal for outdoor use in all weather conditions.”
Gary Maughan, Sepura’s Regional Director for UK, Ireland and North/Central Europe, added:
"This award demonstrates our ability to provide high-quality communications solutions to the business and industry sectors. We are delighted that the RHS has placed its trust in Sepura and we are pleased to make a contribution to the safety of staff and visitors alike.”
