Major Nordic Clean-Energy Company Integrates with TETRA
With upgraded operating centers, Fortum will be more effective in communicating with subcontractors and employees in the field.
Fortum is one of the Nordic region's leading energy companies with over 1.3 million customers. With the vision "For a cleaner world", they provide their customers with energy solutions aimed at improving life today and in the future. Already today, more than 60% of the electricity generation is CO2-free and comes to a large extent from one of the 130 hydroelectric power stations in Sweden.
Fortum has recently chosen to acquire a new platform from Celab Communications AB to effectively manage the many service technicians around the Nordic region from its operating centers.
The new operator system is based on Celab's proven platform Orchestra and is already used by Fortum's former electricity company Ellevio.
The main feature of Orchestra is to integrate different communication paths into one and the same user interface, tailored to Fortum's working methods and routines. In the specific case, it is about integrating telephony with calls via national communications radio networks, such as RAKEL in Sweden and VIRVE in Finland. This is easy and easy to communicate with customers, staff and subcontractors around the north.
The chosen system consists of two mirrored centers located in different locations (Sweden and Finland). The two centers comprise eight operator sites and usually share the management responsibilities, but the reflection ensures that the operating center can be operational 24/7/365 by the respective central to handle all management and communication, if the need arises.
