Motorola Solutions Poland Plays Key Role in Creating New Technological Concepts

In Poland, the tech company currently employs 1600 employees, being the largest Motorola Solutions center in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and the second largest in the world.

Motorola Solutions is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Poland. Back in1992 the company opened its Warsaw headquarters. The next stage of development was the launch of the Research and Development Center in Cracow back in 1998 that currently employs 1600 employees, being the largest Motorola Solutions center in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and the second largest in the world.

Jacek Drabik, Country Manager, Motorola Solutions Poland is proud about the achievement of the company in Poland. He said:  "The Polish team plays a key role in creating new technological concepts and delivering ready-made solutions for the public security sector."

Currently, Motorola Solutions is working on new ways to use mixed reality for Fire Dispatchers and Combined Police Officer Technology, complemented by artificial intelligence. Some good examples were seen during this week's event in London where Motorola Solutions unveiled a new "Innovation Center", which it hopes will spur on future technological development to allow police officers to cope with an ever-growing number of threats without drowning in the information deluge created by modern IT systems.

Addressing change

At present, there are rapid changes in the way public security services function - not only responding to incidents but also anticipating, restricting and preventing them. The key to these processes is the state-of-the-art technology, which includes special tools for managing data anywhere and anytime.

Motorola is approaching innovation in three different ways: by researching and developing new technologies in regional innovation centers, investing and co-operating with its startups and by supporting entrepreneurship in their Research and Development Centers such as Cracow.

"With the rapid development of technologies such as artificial intelligence, we invest in Research and development - An example here is our artificial intelligence center in Israel. This allows us to provide customers with tools that make them safer and more efficient."

The mixed reality virtual reality concept for Fire Dispatchers is a technology that allows you to automatically record and transmit data from fire department locations, such as fires or accidents, and then display them in dispatch centers. Presenting the data in mixed virtual reality format enables dispatchers to better understand the work of rescue teams, streamline decision-making processes, and coordinate rescue operations more effectively.

The Virtual Reality Concept for Fire Service Dispatchers includes:

  • Sensors and devices worn on the body by firefighters, automatically recording and providing secure data such as information on available oxygen levels, biometrics (pulse and breath), ambient temperature, and camera image from the perspective of the first person,
  • Vehicle-mounted 360-degree viewing angles, which provide images from various angles of the scene. The devices can also be mounted on radio and drones,
  • A headset that allows the dispatcher to preview and interact with a three-dimensional hologram of an event location displaying firefighters' locations, places of danger and other important information,
  • Microsoft HoloLens kit - smart glasses with built-in holographic computer. The device allows you to view digital data and interact with holograms in the surrounding environment.

 

Future Police Communications

Motorola also presented its 25th anniversary in Poland with  the 'Joint Police Officer'. The technology includes advanced and innovative tools such as body-worn cameras, hand-held LTE terminals, location and equipment sensors, as well as biometric technologies and collaboration solutions. It allows for constant communication between fieldworkers and dispatch centers and, as a consequence, increases the level of security and effectiveness of officers.

Part of the concept is the Virtual Partner technology, which includes mobile data processing and analysis tools and a virtual voice assistant that listens and responds to the voice of field service officers.
