Simoco Group Executives to Discuss Future of Communications in Dubai
Last month, senior executives at Simoco travelled to Dubai to run an exclusive two-day seminar at the Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel on the marina.
The company hosted 11 companies from across six Middle Eastern countries to talk about the future of communications within the oil, gas and utilities sectors.
The Simoco executives covered the evolution to LTE, work that’s happening in the sector today and how Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) is the communications linchpin for many energy and natural resource businesses and demonstrated how RTUs (remote terminal units) can work as part of a DMR or TETRA system to bring reliable data transmission from remote locations.
The Simoco Xd DMR RTU, for example, is a complete wireless RTU solution for remote communication in SCADA telemetry systems. The unit is ideal for ensuring reliable coverage and data communications – over Simoco’s DMR infrastructure – in remote locations where industrial monitoring and control is required.
The team (existing of Andy Woodhall, Chief Operating Officer; Mike Norfield, Group CEO; Andy Grimmett, Head of Product Strategy and Ghassan El-Housseini, Business Development Director) received encouraging feedback and discussed many real life scenarios, issues and shared examples of best practice amongst the delegates.
