ESChat by SLA Corp. was used to provide secure Push-to-Talk communication and real-time situational awareness for federal agents and first responders at Super Bowl 50
To secure PTT over LTE, ESChat was also used to monitor USAF air-to-ground radio traffic for image analysts back at the operations center.
ESChat by SLA Corporation was used to provide secure Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication by federal law enforcement agents and first responders during the events leading up to and during Super Bowl 50. Supporting the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) and first responders throughout the Bay Area, ESChat was used in a host of operational scenarios in the cities of San Francisco and Santa Clara which hosted Super Bowl 50 at Levi's® Stadium.
Federal agents were equipped with Sonim Technologies’ FirstNet ready Band 14 Ultra Rugged Android devices. ESChat and Sonim Technologies have worked together on a number of successful FirstNet related special events including the 2016 Rose Parade, the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, the New Mexico State Fair and the 2015 Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek Colorado.
"During the major special event law enforcement operations for Super Bowl 50, real-time communication was essential to keep the public safe and law enforcement personnel connected,” said Mike Sena, Director of the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC). “ESChat helped support that capability and was one of the many technologies that made Super Bowl 50 a public safety success story."
ESChat users on the Sonim devices had the opportunity to use next generation FirstNet communication technology designed to enhance public safety. The dedicated Band 14 LTE network provides a high speed wireless data pipeline that is not impacted by the general public. The 700 MHz Band 14 spectrum was made available with the approval of a grant from the FCC for a special temporary authorization (STA).
ESChat was also used by first responders at the Super Bowl 50 Operations Center and throughout the City of Santa Clara, including the event venue, Levi’s Stadium. “ESChat was used to provide unit to unit coverage, while also patching existing radio communication channels into first responder’s smartphones, tablets and laptops,” said Sean Tajkowski of the Unified Communications Network, who was responsible for Satellite and LTE network systems with TacSat Networks. “In addition to secure PTT over LTE, ESChat was also used to monitor USAF air-to-ground radio traffic for image analysts back at the operations center.”
“We are honored to have been selected to provide secure PTT communication and enhanced situational awareness in support of the Super Bowl,” said Josh Lober, President of SLA Corporation. “When it comes to large scale events, security and interoperability are the name of the game. ESChat provides interoperability to public safety P25 radio networks via ISSI allowing seamless and secure communication between agencies and disparit communication technologies.”
ESChat is committed to the betterment of public safety communication and mission critical push to talk (MCPTT) over LTE. ESChat provides Public Safety the ability to perform secure AES-256 encrypted Push to Talk communications. ESChat also provided real-time and historical (bread crumb) tracking capabilities throughout the event. ESChat is the PTT solution of choice for our nation’s first responders, including the US Military and Federal, State and Local law enforcement.
