Boone County, Mo. PSAP Selects Avtec to lead the Modernization of its Communications Center
Avtec Inc., the nation’s leading independent provider of mission-critical Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP) dispatch console systems, has been selected for a next-gen. upgrade to the Public Safety Joint Communications Center for Boone County, Missouri.
The upgrade includes the installation of 21 Scout™ console positions at the main 9-1-1 communications center; another five positions at the training center, and eight Ranger positions in the PSJC Emergency Operations Center. To facilitate integration of the console system to the PSJC’s radio, Computer Aided Dispatch and location based-systems, the upgrade includes 25 Outpost™ devices and Application Programming Interfaces and Software Development Kits.
The Columbia/Boone County PSJC is responsible for ensuring the safety of more than 160,000 residents in the county and within the municipal boundaries of its county seat. The PSJC dispatches 15 agencies to approximately 304,000 incidents per year, including nearly 70,000 emergency calls.
