Terrafix to Deliver Public Safety Applications for Ambulance Radio Programme
Company will provide application for communication between responders and control room
Mobile computing company Terrafix was recently selected by the UK Department of Health (DoH) to deliver a suitable soluton for its Mobile Data and Vehicle Solution Programme (MDVS).
The deal, worth 8.1 million UK pound runs initially for two years, with the option of two more, under which it will provide a mobile data vehicle solution for each of the NHS ambulance services in England. The deal can be extended to include the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust and the Scottish Ambulance Service Board.
The Ambulance Radio Programme aims to upgrade the ambulance services’ control room and mobile data communications as the contracts for existing services expire over the next three years as the service moves away from using the Airwave network.
The deal includes a mobilisation application for communications between the ambulances and control room, which can be extend to nurses and community responders.
