Avtec Inc., is showcasing a new family of solutions at booth 845 during APCO 2018—APCO International’s Annual Conference & Expo—scheduled for Aug. 5-8 at the Venetian-Palazzo-Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.

Available exclusively through Avtec’s certified channel partners, Scout Select offers public safety agencies three new configurable packages that provide a highly reliable, easy-to-expand platform that seamlessly integrates conventional and trunked radios, telephony, and broadband technologies, while simultaneously offering a lower total cost of ownership. Powered by the same proven technology used in its flagship Scout platform—now available under the rebranded name Scout Enterprise—the new family of solutions provides public safety command centers with a secure, P25-compliant system designed to deliver no-fail communications and interoperability between and among public agencies.

Avtec’s focal point at APCO—“One Platform. Unlimited Possibilities.”—captures its performance pledge: a single-code-base family of solutions offering maximum flexibility, redundancy, and interoperability. Scout Select offers the following packages in basic or advanced configurations:

  • Scout 100, a four-button hardware device that controls up to four radio channels or talkgroups.
  • Scout 400, an easy-to-expand, software-based solution to access up to four radio or telephony channels.
  • Scout 800, a scalable, software-based solution designed to manage up to eight radio or telephony endpoints.

“The new Scout family of solutions reaffirms our long-standing commitment to both meeting and anticipating the needs of our public safety clients—whether those communication requirements are simple, advanced, or somewhere in between,” remarked Avtec’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Alphonso Hamilton. “Scout Select provides emergency response agencies with a controlled number of communication channels within a secure, highly dependable command and control platform designed for interoperability between agencies.”
