Motorola Solutions confirms Penang employee positive for Covid-19
Penang this week recorded one Covid-19 case when an employee of Motorola Solutions tested positive for the virus. It is learnt that the employee had returned to work in the state with flu-like symptoms, after visiting Kuala Lumpur over a week ago. Motorola Solutions director of communications (Asia Pacific and International Commercial Markets) Damien Batey confirmed the news in an email to the New Straits Times, saying it was working closely with the Health Ministry and following their guidelines to minimise the risk of further exposure. Batey said Motorola Solutions remains committed to supporting its public safety and enterprise customers during this time, as they do during natural disasters and other widespread emergencies.
“All our staff in Penang will work from home for the next two weeks and all necessary actions are being taken for them to return after that time. Additionally, all of our facilities are being sanitised,” he added.
