Motorola Solutions makes strategic investment in speech recognition tech provider GreenKey
Motorola Solutions has invested in Chicago-based speech recognition system developer GreenKey Technologies to help the latter build up its technology, resource and deployment processes in the public safety sector. Motorola plans to field GK’s platform to provide 911 dispatchers with emergency call transcription in real time. GK’s speech recognition system works to identify and convert complex jargon in text and audio into actionable insights. The strategic investment came after GreenKey closed a Series B funding round in March.
Anthony Tassone, founder and CEO of GreenKey, said in a statement: "the company has collaborated with Motorola in the past two years to develop its speech recognition tech designed to reduce response times for first responders. Now that GK’s technology is trained to recognize the vocabulary used by first responders, we are thrilled to continue working with Motorola Solutions’ experts through the deployment and implementation stages ahead.”
