The Public Safety Network announced its partnership with SafeTracer as part of its public safety technology accelerator program. Based in Charlotte, NC, SafeTracer offers an error free process to prevent accidental misdials to 911, which take dispatchers' time and attention away from true emergencies and delay public safety's response to those emergencies. The technology of finger tracing a basic shape on a mobile device to send a 911 notification leverages the understanding that people can inadvertently tap, click or swipe but can't trace an entire shape involuntarily.

"SafeTracer's goal is to improve safety in all communities by enabling smartphone and wearable manufacturers with this simple, universal, error free emergency alert. This operating system enhancement creates efficiencies for 911 dispatchers, resulting in faster public safety responses to true emergencies," said SafeTracer inventor and founder Wendy Mandell Geller.
