The Delhi Police patrolling team will receive Tetra wireless handsets to receive information about the crimes in their districts. The police claimed that the move will help tackle street crimes in the city. Police sources said that the initiative will start in the Central Delhi where the patrolling team of the police stations will get the wireless handsets. The team consists of armed policemen on motorcycles. The central district police will soon distribute 15 Tetra wireless handsets to the team through which they will be connected with senior police officers and will be able to know about the crimes happening in their district.

The Tetra wireless handsets are being used by senior officers in Delhi Police and the beat-level police personnel have beat wireless sets, which do not receive information about crimes in other areas and it takes a long process to inform the beat staff, who are on the patrolling duty in other areas.
