Des Moines Metropolitan Wastewater Reclamation Authority Retains Federal Engineering for Radio Consulting Services
The Des Moines Metropolitan Wastewater Reclamation Authority (Authority) has retained the services of Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to assist in the procurement of a new radio system.
Raymond Wilson, Project Manager for the Authority said: “The Des Moines Metropolitan Wastewater Reclamation Authority relies heavily upon wireless communications and our current system is aging. We were looking for the services of an independent consulting firm to serve as our subject matter expert and assist in the analysis, design, procurement, and implementation of a new, state-of-the-art radio system. Federal Engineering was brought to our attention through their work with the City of Des Moines which was key in their selection.”
Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, President & CEO of Federal Engineering, provided an overview of the project: “Federal Engineering will support the Authority throughout the following phases of the project:
Phase 1–Radio System Analysis and Conceptual Design
Conduct User Interviews and Survey Authority Radio Sites
Develop Conceptual Design for the Authority to Utilize the City’s P25 System
Prepare Needs Assessment and Conceptual Design Report
Phase 2—RFP Development and Procurement Support
Develop Technical Specifications
Support Radio System Procurement and Vendor Evaluation
Assist with Contract Negotiations
FE also positioned itself to provide Phase 3—Implementation Support including project management, independent validation & verification, inspection services, and acceptance testing should the Authority desire.”
