Futuri, a global leader in AI technology for media and public safety, has appointed Marc Jaromin as the Director of Public Safety Platforms.

He will oversee the expansion of BEACON (The Broadcast Emergency Alerts and Communications Operations Network), an innovative public safety communications system developed by Futuri in collaboration with the University of Florida and the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

Jaromin joins emergency management expert Craig Fugate, former FEMA Administrator and Florida Emergency Management Director, who was instrumental in the development of BEACON.

"I am honored to join Futuri and lead the expansion of BEACON. This innovative platform is revolutionizing public safety communications,” Jaromin said in a release. “Simply put, BEACON saves lives. I am excited to work with our partners to enhance public safety preparedness across the nation."

Jaromin previously served as Vice President and General Manager of major network affiliates, including WKBW-DT in Buffalo, NY, WROC-DT, and WUHF-DT in Rochester, NY.

Launched at the end of 2024, BEACON combines AI with the resiliency of broadcast technology to transform how emergency managers and first responders communicate with communities before, during, and after disasters.

Former FEMA Administrator, Craig Fugate continues to provide strategic leadership in BEACON’s nationwide expansion.

“Marc Jaromin and Craig Fugate’s leadership bring together highly specialized experience in state and federal level emergency management, disaster recovery, emergency communications, broadcasting, and service to local communities,” Futuri CEO and founder Daniel Anstandig remarked. “Futuri’s BEACON allows government agencies to deliver critical safety information to local communities in multiple languages more effectively than ever before.”
