Source: Gert Jan Wolf

Critical communications analyst, editor and content creator Gert Jan Wolf tests and reviews the new RG530 from RugGear with 13 pin connector, dedicated PTT, removable battery with loud and clear audio.

Currently, there are many companies on the market today that claim to produce 'the most rugged smartphone' that is avaialble on the market today. In order for these smartphones to receive the so called: 'Rugged' label, that supports mission critical communications based on the ETSI 3GPP standard, these smartphones should at least have specifications, such as production of the device according to the MIL- STD, they should have unbreakable glass, a 13 pin connector at the side to connect a wired RSM, loud and clear audio and a removable battery, etc.

RugGear is one of the few companies out there that produces such a Rugged Smart Radio. This was for Gert Jan Wolf a good reason to have a closer look at the new RugGear PTToC device, the RG530, using the TASSTA application for Mission Critical two-way radio communications.

In this product review video, Gert Jan also talks with Martin Haaf, CEO at i.safe MOBILE GmbH and CEO of RugGear, during his prescence at PMRExpo 2021. Haaf explains the differences between the RG530 conpared to other devices, the need for a wired RSM, the outstanding features of this new rugged radio, as well as the cooperation between RugGear and i.safe MOBILE.
