Boa's to use the C2000 TETRA network in Moerdijk municipality
Few months ago, a supervisor was in the performance of his work seriously threatened and beaten.
The BOA's (extraordinary investigators) of the municipality of Moerdijk (The Netherlands) are now connected to the C2000 TETRA network, the national communication system for emergency services. If a BOA is somehow suppressed and emergency assistance is needed, a touch on a button is just enough to receive the help from the nearest police officer. Connecting the BOA's to the C2000 system is no luxury. Few months ago, a supervisor of the municipality of Moerdijk was in the performance of his work seriously threatened and beaten.
The municipality of Moerdijk decided in June last year to invest in the communication system.
Because of the system monitoring the public areas has improve and because of that these area's are safer .
The Dutch C2000 system is already used by police, ambulance, fire department and various departments of the Ministry of Defence.
The Moerdijk supervisors can now directly communicate with the police and emergency services. "That is of course always good. In this way you can use each other's eyes and ears and make it a bit safer," said a spokesman for the municipality of Moerdijk.
