Petrochemical giant benefits from a from the many advantages offered by a private TETRA network.

Petrochemical giant SABIC located in the city of Geleen, The Netherlands is one of the top five petrochemical companies in the world. At the Chemelot site, which covers an area of over one square kilometre, ten large SABIC facilities produce plastics for various sectors, including the automotive and packaging industries.
The plants at the site are subject to periodic turnarounds, when they are either partly or completely shut down for maintenance, cleaning and projects. Such occasions call for clear communication, as the SABIC turnaround staff will confirm. During the maintenance operations, they use a wireless TETRA system and over 500 ATEX TETRA two-way radios to communicate with each other.

SABIC deployed one of the Flash Services mobile TETRA units, together with 510 Motorola MTP850 TETRA ATEX radios and 20 Motorola MTM800E TETRA fixed mobile radios, during a maintenance shutdown. Both the system and the peripherals were rented for a limited period from Flash Services.
