Successful first meeting of the 3GPP SA6 Group
The first meeting of 3GPP SA6 took place on the 26th January and attracted over 140 registered delegates.
It seems that Critical Broadband Communications is a high priority to many countries as the first meeting of the 3GPP SA6 Group was a success.
At the meeting, there was no time to lose as the convenor of the group, Andrew Howell from the UK Home Office, immediately began the meeting with the standard 3GPP call for IPR announcements.
The group dived directly into work as a fair amount of documents from other groups were transferred to SA6. The future will tell probably how the working practices evolve, but the initial atmosphere is very positive towards the critical communications community with the intent to advance affordable interoperable standards.
The TCCA was represented by the CEO and the CCBG chairman. Also a number of TCCA members were presented including representatives from ASTRID, C2000, French MoI and Home Office, just to mention few.
The Next SA6 meeting will take place co-located with the TCCA CCBG plenary in ETSI at the end of February, where the chairman and vice-chairs will be elected.
