The police invited Airbus to the national Kenya police headquarters to make a powerpoint presentation for secure radio solutions, nationwide Tetra radio networks, national security communications and nationwide public safety networks.

Last year a team of police officers went to Sweden, Denmark, Britain and South Africa to visit a number of manufacturers in order to receive recommendations on suitable equipment.

Of interest are equipment for use by police in volatile areas including aerial patrols along the Kenya/ Somalia border.

In September 2014 Antony Kamitu, writing on behalf of the Director of Logistics, invited Airbus to the national Kenya police headquarters to make a PowerPoint presentation for secure radio solutions, nationwide Tetra radio networks, national security communications and nationwide public safety networks.

In April this year eight international companies have looked at all police communication masts in and around Nairobi to recommend upgrades, however the National Police Service has been unable to get the required equipment because of the bureaucracy surrounding procurement, despite support from Interior Secretary Joseph Nkaissery.
