Entropia Digital announces the rollout of its 200-site Tetra network, based on Motorola Dimetra 8.1 and with systems integrator KPN, will stop. Entropia Digital will replace the Motorola Tetra network with the Hytera Mobilfunk Tetra platform.

Entropia Digital deems this is a necessary step to guarantee a highly reliable Tetra network for the long term.

Entropia Digital has chosen Hytera Mobilfunk as the partner of choice to replace the rollout of Tetra in the Netherlands. Hytera Mobilfunk has been a strategic partner of Entropia in Belgium for many years. The very positive experiences in Belgium have encouraged the decision Entropia Digital took to replace the Motorola platform fully and to complete the rollout of 200 sites in the Netherlands with Hytera Mobilfunk.

There will be no impact on Customers of Entropia Digital during the transition phase to the new Tetra platform. The migration of the existing Tetra network to Hytera Mobilfunk will occur in consultation with all customers individually and under the exclusive direction of Entropia Digital.

The first areas to be based on the Hytera Mobilfunk Tetra platform will be Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe. These provinces will be deployed by the end of 2015. The full transition phase nationwide will be completed before the end of December 2016. By the end of 2016, approximately 330 Hytera Mobilfunk Tetra base stations will be active throughout Belgium and The Netherlands.
