The order is part of a program to qualify and strengthen the network to prolong autonomy times of the digital radio network stations up to 72 hours in case of a power failure.

Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG, which is listed in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ISIN DE000A1MMHE3), announces that it has received an order for the delivery of further 22 fuel cell emergency power systems for back-up power of digital radio network stations for public authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS) in a fourth federal state of Germany.

The order is part of a program to qualify and strengthen the network to prolong autonomy times of the digital radio network stations up to 72 hours in case of a power failure. The program aims to ensure the availability of the stations in case of an extensive and prolonged power blackout. For Heliocentris, the order including the services to be rendered adds a revenue stream of about EUR 1.5m in the upcoming months.

With this new order, the number of digital radio network stations equipped with Heliocentris' solutions increases to over 130 in Germany. The upgrade of these stations with emergency power systems was co-financed by means of the national innovation program Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. Four federal states of Germany now use Heliocentris' fuel cells in their radio networks. Heliocentris is hereby the biggest provider of fuel cell emergency power systems for digital radio networks of public authorities in Germany.

A significant part of the c. 4500 digital radio network stations in Germany is expected to be equipped with emergency power solutions for 72 hours back-up time in the next few years. The considerable advantages of fuel cells speak in favor of this technology prevailing over diesel generators. The company is therefore optimally positioned to achieve revenues of several million Euro per year in the context of this initiative. Further turnover potential for the coming years in Germany is expected by Heliocentris in other segments of critical infrastructure (for example railways, utilities).

Dr. Henrik Colell, CTO of Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG, comments: "Our fuel cell solutions clearly outclass the emergency power solutions based on diesel generators used so far for example in terms of reliability and operating expenses. Our customers also confirm this advantage and the competitiveness of our solutions. The order is a further signal that we are on the right track with our strategy to develop and market hydrogen and fuel cell based back up and storage solutions. In 2016, we will also demonstrate this by installing our first systems in our core market - the energy supply of mobile base stations outside of Europe. "
