Bremer Straßenbahn AG has commissioned Hytera Mobilfunk and its partners to replace its existing analog radio system with a new system conforming to the TETRA standard in the city of Bremen, Germany.

Following on from Würzburg, the company has now successfully acquired a similar project in the public transport sector in the city of Bremen. Over the next two years, a completely new TETRA radio system will be put in place for the city-wide bus and streetcar network. Alongside integration of the existing ITCS control room solution, the project also incorporates replacement of the radio equipment installed in the vehicles.

"Here, everything that needed to come together did come together. A client that knew what it wanted, and a company that knows where its strengths lie. In Bremen, we have composed a strong team consisting of our partners Trapeze, Meretec and Comtechnik Funk and we are looking forward to the rollout", explained Michael Fertig.
