Dutch Security and Justice Committee Receives C2000 briefing
The Committee on Security and Justice will receive a technical briefing on the progress of C2000.
The Chamber is concerned about the speed of the rollout of the Public Safety TETRA network. The delay was announced by Minister Blok, just before the summer holiday season of the Dutch parliament, writes Verbinding.
The technical briefing was requested by the Dutch parliamentary member Chris van Dam of the CDA. Van Dam is following the postponement of the new C2000 network and he is concerned about the sequel.
"C2000 is an essential system for the Dutch security world, which in itself justifies all attention of the government. I find it remarkable to receive changing messages about the 'go live' date of the new network. This raises the question on how this ICT project has been running. The renewal of C2000 is accompanied by major financial efforts. We have a supervisory role to full fill", said Van Dam to the Safety and Justice commission.
The technical briefing will be a private meeting.
