Fisher Wireless Launches Digital SMR Network in California

The SMR plans to provide up to 50 connected digital high sites encompassing a single footprint covering the majority of California and Arizona.

TeamTalk Networks, powered by Fisher Wireless Services, plans to launch its new commercially available digital voice and data network this month. The SMR plans to provide up to 50 connected digital high sites encompassing a single footprint covering the majority of California and Arizona.

TeamTalk Connect uses Motorola's MOTOTRBO Connect Plus based on the Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) standard. Fisher Wireless was one of four operators to join the DMR Association last year.

Many businesses such as transportation, heavy construction, farming and other labor-based business have a need for wide-area group voice communications, company officials said. Customers of this network can use text messaging, GPS-based location tracking, dispatch consoles, network monitoring and email gateways to enhance business communications. The network offers a flat monthly service fee.

Fisher Wireless Services has offered commercial dispatch services for more than 20 years. TeamTalk Networks is partnering with Motorola and other commercial radio dealers throughout California and Arizona. The commercial dealers will be able to offer their customers a digital solution the meets wide-area operational requirements and budgets.
