Simoco to Demonstrate the Latest in Critical Communications at IWCE
Simoco Group has announced it will be returning to the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) at the Las Vegas Convention Center on 16-20th March.
Over 7,000 industry professionals across the government, public safety, transportation and utility sectors will see the global mobile radio specialist’s latest Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) and P25 products in action.
The company’s DMR solution, Simoco Xd, will take center stage at the Simoco booth (#441), which has earned a reputation as the ideal solution in mission critical radio environments. Simoco Xd offers 6.25 equivalent spectrum efficiency, high quality, robust audio and the latest advances in intelligent Man Down and GPS tracking. The base stations, mobile and portable radios all offer open standards digital operation at Tier II, with an optional software only upgrade to Tier III trunking. Further enhancements have also been made since IWCE 2014. Simoco has upgraded its DMR system to include the capability for full duplex calling on its range of DMR portables, which Bahrain Airport installed last year.
Simoco’s P25 range offers reliable and secure communications in conventional, simulcast and trunked architectures. It has also benefited from recent software upgrades and enhancements to its user alerting, privacy mode, SIP/analog telephone adaptor and voting heartbeats. Simoco’s multi-mode mobiles and portables offer operation on P25, legacy analog Selcall and analog trunked modes. Simoco also offers industry leading P25 integrated Simulcast base station repeaters that combine versatility with low cost operation to provide an IP-based system perfect for wide areas of operation.
“IWCE is an excellent platform for us to demonstrate our digital radio solutions as we expand further across North and South America,” Gary Correia, VP Americas at Simoco. “It is an authoritative event that attracts a diverse group of communications technology professionals with diverse needs, which is why we are demonstrating our latest technologies."
“Around the world, P25 is largely considered the ideal public safety platform for interoperability, allowing multiple government organizations to talk together. In the Americas, however, we are finding that the technology – mainly the infrastructure, portables and mobiles – can be too expensive for some agencies. We are now seeing agencies looking for alternative solutions like Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) that offer the same, or enhanced features and functionality at a lower cost than P25. So, this year at IWCE, we will be presenting both solutions to show that critical communications is accessible to all.”
