Simoco Group has announced it will demonstrate its P25 and Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) solutions at the 2015 APCO Australasia Conference and Expo in Melbourne on 29-30th April.

The major annual conference and exhibition, which is in its 12th year, is themed ‘Public Safety in the Century of Change’ and is set to attract over 600 public safety professionals. It will connect the largest network of public safety and emergency management leaders in Australia and New Zealand with innovative organisations like Simoco in the communications and technology industries.

Simoco’s P25 solutions will also take centre stage at the show including its X-mode multi-mode portables and mobiles that offer seamless operation on modern P25 networks as well as existing legacy analogue systems. The terminals operate on Simoco’s IP enhanced P25 integrated simulcast base station repeaters, which combine versatility with low cost operation to provide an IP-based system perfect for wide areas of operation. Furthermore, Simoco will demonstrate TIA standards compliant Zetron Dispatcher Console which can work through its P25 simulcast base station repeater via the Direct Fixed Serial Interface connection.

Visitors to the Simoco stand (#22) will see why the company’s DMR solution, Simoco Xd, has earned a reputation as the ideal solution in mission critical radio environments. Simoco Xd offers DMR spectrum efficiency, high quality and robust audio, intelligent ‘man down’ and GPS tracking, and the capability for full duplex calling. The base stations, mobile and portable radios also offer open standards digital operation at Tier II, with an optional software only upgrade to Tier III trunking.

Robert Meachem, General Manager at Simoco Australasia, said: “Our Simoco P25 range is a widely deployed end-to-end platform perfectly suited to Australasian critical communications markets. But we don’t just sell products. At Simoco, we offer a consultative approach so that public safety agencies can benefit from radio systems that work according to their specific operational requirements – rather than an ‘off the shelf’ solution. We have recently developed customised P25 solutions for customers including the Victoria State Emergency Service, Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI), Rural Fire Service Queensland and St Johns Ambulance, and APCO is the perfect platform to extend our expertise in P25 – and indeed DMR – in the critical communication and public safety market even further.”

The APCO Australasia Conference and Expo is one of the largest events dedicated to public safety communications and provides vendors with an opportunity to show their latest innovations, which are designed to address the ever changing needs of mission critical users. The event will promote collaboration and innovation, giving delegates insight on how new thinking can help organisations stay ahead of the curve. The conference and exhibition will comprise local and international keynotes, expert Q&A panels, pre-conference workshops and more.
