Tensing Safety & Security submitted the project “CCR360 Emergency Room GIS for the metropolitan area The Hague-Leiden in the Netherlands” in the category Public Safety.

This year the city of Lisbon hosted the Geospatial World Forum, an INSPIRE Conference. This is a joint effort of INSPIRE, the organization that works on an infrastructure for geo-spatial data, and Geospatial Media & Communications, a leading organization in promoting the application of geospatial technology at private and public enterprises. One of Geospatial World Forum’s activities is gathering and disseminating information about GIS projects with significant societal relevance. An international board of renowned experts reviews these projects in several categories, looking at both social relevance and technical accomplishment.

Tensing Safety & Security submitted the project “CCR360 Emergency Room GIS for the metropolitan area The Hague-Leiden in the Netherlands” in the category Public Safety. In this project, the Dutch National Police – Unit The Hague and Tensing worked closely together to provide the emergency room with the best possible geo-platform and applications to support all control room activities.

Dirk Verbeek, Managing Director Tensing Safety & Security: "Even though we did not win the main prize, the Geospatial Excellence Award, we are very proud to have had the project shortlisted and nominated in a competing field of over 250 entries. We consider this to be a very encouraging recognition of our work and a great motivator to improve even further."
