Pittsburg's legacy dispatch and records management software had reached the end of its useful life, and the city sought a system with advanced capabilities to modernize public safety processes.

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement with the city of Pittsburg, Kansas, for Tyler's New World™public safety solution suite. The agreement includes software licensing and related professional services, training and support.

Pittsburg's legacy dispatch and records management software had reached the end of its useful life, and the city sought a system with advanced capabilities to modernize public safety processes. In addition to needing high functionality in records management and computer aided dispatch (CAD), the city wanted a new system that could support investigations and officer reporting while also easily interfacing with state and federal agencies to retrieve and enter data from the field.

After a highly competitive RFP process highlighting the city's unique needs, Pittsburg leaders selected Tyler Technologies' New World public safety suite of solutions. Their comprehensive review included references from other agencies successfully using New World public safety products.

Tyler's New World suite will enable the city to integrate dispatch, records, investigations and patrol across jurisdictions, which will have a dramatic impact on the city's ability to address crime. Tyler's public safety software will help dispatchers focus more on timely support instead of technical and administrative details, while officers and other sworn staff will have more time to focus on fighting crime and promoting crime prevention.

The city expects that having a more efficient system will help prevent crime, not just displace it, supporting goals for long-term crime reduction.

Pittsburg has more than 20,000 residents and is located in southeast Kansas.
