Huawei and Frequentis Sign MOU to Accelerate New Opportunities in Public Safety Industry
In the face of mounting public security threats, Huawei is committed to joining forces with leading industry partners to develop a vibrant, robust, and open Safe City ecosystem.
At CeBIT 2017, Huawei and Frequentis, a leading global supplier of communication and information solutions for safety-critical industries signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) for the joint development of an open ecosystem for public safety solutions, in a move set to usher in safer cities.
In the face of mounting public security threats, Huawei is committed to joining forces with leading industry partners to develop a vibrant, robust, and open Safe City ecosystem.
The partnership between Huawei and Frequentis is aimed at fostering a flourishing public safety ecosystem, which will ultimately translate into greater levels of safety for citizens, while unlocking efficiencies through innovation for companies operating in the public safety industry. The partnership will span the EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.
Under the partnership, Huawei and Frequentis will work together to develop a Next Generation Dispatching Solution for Command and Control centres. By supporting features such as seamless integration of consultation and surveillance systems across different agencies, real time voice and data transmission services, the joint solution will help public security agencies achieve greater efficiency, while reducing their total cost of ownership for mission-critical IT investments.
The tie-up between the two companies is the latest in a long series of partnerships pursued by Huaiwei aimed at bringing the concept of Safe Cities to life by facilitating collaborative innovations.

"Huawei is looking to allocate more resources to collaborations with industrial partners to provide more powerful and cost-efficient public safety solutions."
The MOU signed by Huawei and Frequentis outlines the cooperation areas between the two companies. Both will work together on the design, development, validation and packaging of Safe City offerings. Frequentis has already set up a demo environment in the Huawei OpenLab in Munich.

In addition to this partnership, both companies have agreed to initiate a series of cooperation projects worldwide, with a view to enhancing public safety through innovative safe city solutions.
